Brother Intellifax 2820 – Fax Machine With Print And Copy Capabilities
Brother decided to upgrade their previous consumer level fax machine model, the discontinued Intellifax 2800, with this affordable newer unit, the Brother Intellifax 2820. The 2820 sports better memory, USB compatibility, and all at a cheaper base price! Also, just as importantly to some, it comes in a much cooler looking package, making it a sleeker, more aesthetic home office friendly design and less of a cumbersome eyesore.
If inkjet or thermal transfer print technology is not an option, but low cost is a must, the Intellifax 2820 is one of the few pieces of hardware you’ll find that suits your needs. Inexpensive enough for light home office use, this unit could be the option that finally brings laser technology back from work to you.
Over time Brother has developed plenty of unique, time saving features through generations of its fax machines. Today, Brother machines like the 2820 come equipped with a QuickScan feature that allows you to quickly scan a single page and retrieve back the original immediately, then, while the document is in your hand, it is being sent from memory to your destination. It helps that the unit has abuilt in 8 MBs of storage, which boosts the Intellifax 2820’s ability to operate this, and other memory based features designed to save time, while reducing the user’s own labor requirement.
Probably the most useful of these features being an incredible digital storage capacity that can corral up to 500 pages of fax information in its memory in case of a paper outage, or a power outage for that matter, keeping important documents locked safely in your fax machine’s memory banks, available for print at your leisure.
Another great feature of the model is its functionality as a copy machine. It not only can make copies at a speedy 15 pages per minute, it also gives you a slew of versatile options to play with such as enlargement capabilities from 50% up to 200%, letting you adjust the size of your graphs and charts manually before you send them off.
Along with being a copy machine, the Brother Intellifax 2820 is also an easy to use telephone, and a printer that can be interfaced directly to your computer. With the on board USB interface you can interface with your PC just as you would any other printer, and output at a clean 600 X 600 dot per inch image quality.
When you get down to brass tax, the unit really does come pretty equipped for the price. It’s capabilities include a 20 page auto document feeder, and a beefy 250 sheet input capacity which will keep paper refills to a minimum. The 220 station auto dial memory can store hundreds of phone numbers, and broadcasting your documents to multiple locations will not be a problem as this model is capable of sending to up to 270 locations at a time. You can even connect an external answering machine with the provided port, which shows you once again really how much you’re getting with the Brother Intellifax 2820 for the price.
