Clocks are everywhere, from your car stereo, to your cell phone. It’s rare that you find yourself unaware of the hour, and the days of stopping strangers to ask if they have the time have long since been forgotten. But even in this minute-savvy age, one thing hasn’t change: the number of people who own watches. Many would think that the practice would have become obsolete, when all you have to do is flip open your cell to catch the time, and yet watches are still one of the most popular gift items for any occasion. What makes them so useful?
The truth is, they aren’t, not if you are keeping up with any of the number of current technological advances. But one thing that they are, and will always remain, are timeless classics, items that remind us of another time, accessories that have become so engraved in our minds as necessary that we actually feel naked without them.
