Characteristics of the Watch of a Dictator
Not everyone admires dictators. However, when it comes to harnessing the power available to them, dictators are the people that many consider as models. There are special traits that are common among the dictators from various countries. They have the unique strength of personality, charm, and presence that sets them apart from the crowd. These characteristics help them win supporters over to their side.
There are many times that these qualities of a dictator are uncovered by the way they carry themselves with the people. Everything a dictator does creates a statement that almost everyone notices. Even a dictator’s choice of clothing ensemble can add to the character that he would like to project. For a man, a watch that reflects his personality has to coordinate with the rest of his wardrobe. Most men’s watches, however, are a bit expensive. But by knowing the style that you want, you can try looking for designs that are less expensive than those of luxury watch brands. Although not as costly, your watches can still give you that attitude that dictators have.
1. Classic Design
Look for watches with a classic design. When worn with almost any type of clothes, these watches can help you attain the charm of a dictator. Consider a brand such as Rolex. A Rolex is a luxury watch brand that is known to all the classes in the society. Former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein knows that by wearing a Rolex Datejust, people will instantly know that he is a man of extreme power.
2. Functionality
A man who would like to project that there is a lot that goes on in his mind will look great wearing a Breitling Aerospace. Chilean Augusto Pinochet wears this watch, which has a chronograph, chronometer, minute repeater, countdown timer, alarm clock, and a second time zone. The second time zone feature is very appropriate for dictators who frequently travel from one place to another.
3. Durability
With the dictator having so many things on his schedule, he needs a watch that is made from durable materials that will withstand the changes of seasons, temperatures, and shock. Dictators may also experience military-related activities and demonstrations with the masses that his watch has to work with him at all times. Rolex will not be a luxury name for watches if it uses low quality materials for the watch parts. The Breitling Aeropace also boast of having high-grade titanium for its body that makes it very durable.
4. Rare Materials
Watches with rare materials may be the most expensive of the luxury watches in the market. But, if you want to stand out the way a dictator does, you can invest in watches with expensive metals and jewels. The Panerai is the watch that is specially made for Mussolini’s commandos. It has a sapphire crystal face, Arabic numerals, and a half moon crown guard. Such features make this watch a collector’s item. Aside from being found in Mussolini’s troops, several Hollywood stars were spotted wearing this watch. That includes Arnold Schwarzenegger and Brad Pitt. Even former US President Bill Clinton sports this watch.
And if you really want a rare watch, you can have a custom-made gold Rolex. This is, of course, more expensive than the other Rolex models. Saddam Hussein has a custom-made gold Rolex that is encrusted with diamonds. This watch costs at least $150,000. Although very expensive, this watch will certainly give you the appeal of a dictator. A one-of-a-kind watch goes with an extraordinary person like a dictator. If you want to project this attitude, and you have that amount of money, this watch is your best choice.
