Roth IRA – Mutual Fund contributions?

I recently set up a simple start Roth IRA with Fidelity and have automatic deposits to a Fidelity Freedom Mutual Fund every month. I deposit $ 200 each month to the fund and would continue so until I max it out for the calendar year. For subsequent years I should start contributing to further mutual funds in my Roth IRA funds to diversify my portfolio a little, or should I ever be made to this fund. The reason why I ask because I currently have the freedom fund to finance a retirement destination. I am interested in more aggressive funds can maximize my portfolio.

I investment began 11 months ago and I have 3 funds in my Roth IRA. I invested in Legg Mason Partners (formerly Smith Barney) Aggressive Growth, LMP LMP Fundamental Value and Appreciation Fund. I only have $ 50 in Aggressive Growth, $ 25 in basic rights, and $ 25 in the standings each month. LMP Aggressive Growth is probably the most aggressive growth fund outside and the oldest mutual fund is around. There are not many mutual funds is that a 10 year or more history. Anyway, that's great that you invest $ 200/month. I am a financial advisor and I tell my clients to invest systematically and show them the dollar cost averaging concept. The maximum contribution to a Roth IRA is $ 4000 for the year 2006-2007 ($ 5,000 if you are 50 years or older). I think it goes up to $ 5,000 in 2008. I assume you are under 50 years old and so the $ 4000 / 12) = $ 333.33: maximum contribution you can right now, every month make. (Good luck with your future!
