Price on a piece of art I have completed?
Okay. I’m in college right now to study fine arts. I’m in my second drawing class, and we have been doing the nude model for a few weeks. I have recently spent roughly 6 hours on a full body piece of the female model, and after reviewing everyones artwork, she would like to purchase mine.
It’s 18” by 24”, so it’s a nice size. The colors are very harmonious, and it looks just like her– hint the reason why she wants to purchase mine and not anyone elses.
It’s not framed, but it would have a lot of value to her because of the subject, how much should I ask her for it? I tried getting her to offer first, but she keeps asking me how much I’d like.
I’m thinking around 45-55 dollars, because i did spend a decent amount of time on it, and the quality is very good. She’s a college student, as well, so I can’t charge her a fortune, plus… I’m still in college and learning.
Any suggestions?
Your price sounds like it works for you – so suggest it to her. I’ll bet she will buy and love your work. 18″ x 24″ will fit a ready made frame already, so that’s a plus!
